You can see on the lid the same two people sitting and talking, rubbing the seeds to make flour. On this pot you can see Pluma Mapa (lots of flowers)! Urlpaatja (Parrot) is there too he lives in holes in the trees at night time. Ulpaatja Kara marra (parrot is good meat)! The little ones we likel Perentie is there too.. Kara marra again! you can see the kwaarra (little girl) satnding on puta (rock), watching the perentie and ulpaatja. Pmurlpa (Quandong) marna marra (good food)! They are all falling on the ground. You can see arrkutja picking them up. We pick them up and put into the coolemon to take back to pmere (home).

This is at Ntjartnama (my outstation) where I went hunting for Ngurrlpa (pitchery/ bush tobbacco) and I ran into these birds. Plus I was looking for parkillya (wild flower) to make a little flower garden for me. They are the purple little flowers with white in the middle. That’s how I ran into these birds. I came back the next day and I started drawing and painting what I see.

While Splendid Fairy-wrens stand out brilliantly from the regular browns and blacks of many backyard birds, they’re quite shy and tricky to spot. As they venture out of their homes for food, they move very quickly. You can spot them zipping out of the canopy like little rockets. When foraging on the ground, they quickly hop in large bounds. You can often spot members of these flocks roosting on a tree branch and nestled up together. They also preen each other.

This is Boggy Hole ducks, where we grew us seen many ducks as a child. But now we grown up theres hardly any kind of ducks or birds around anymore. Wes used to have those long penguins, the white ones with the long legs and big beak, there used to be heaps of them there but now nothing, Boggy Hole and Running Waters. The history of the native things that we used to see, it’s not there anymore, like the native birds. The waters drying up, they leaving. (Terracotta and Underglazes, 13 x 8cm)

Tuakitja (babbler) what they eating? Any sweet thing. Flower, grass. All the bird always eat flower. <p>I'm famous for making <em>thepa mapa</em> (bird mob). I always make on pot. Any bird, I make 'em, because all these bird nice colour.&nbsp;</p> (Terracotta and Underglazes, 18 x 9cm )

This is going towards Palm Valley swimming, fishing and camping. Seeing ducks and other animals around us, we see camels sometimes, wild horses, donkeys now and then. Mainly wild horses, but not as much as kintore side. We just love fresh water swimming cos we can see right through the water, not like the sea! Palm valley water and Bogey Hole water are very clear. See that gum tree there, that's Para (river red gum). You know para, the one with the honey, the sugar - that's paraltja (sugar deposit made by lerp from river red gum). That's where Pareroultja's come from. That landscape is Macdonnel ranges there, somewhere over there. And water a little bit there. (Terracotta and Underglazes, 25 x 12cm)

Thepa kwatja rinya are usually found around Glen Helen way, at two mile, a permanent spring. There are two pelicans living there. People say they flew up from Lake Eyre, home of the Arabana people. They've been there for as long as I remember. (Terracotta and Underglazes, 16 x 9cm)

This one is landscape over at Palm Valley there somewhere, with those red rocks and those different trees. You know those trees up at Palm Valley, the palm trees, that&rsquo;s them there. And this yellow is all the flowers, tjinti-tjinti, you see them from the road. You can see them from distance, it&rsquo;s really yellow. (Terracotta and Underglazes, 16 x 13cm)

Everytime when we go back to our oustation, to Alkngarinjta, my mother's country. Everytime we see lots of horses. The blue horses come around looking for water with a bunch of other horses. When they come with foals they paw the ground and they gallop through to protect the little foals. (Terracotta and Underglazes, 13 x 8cm)

My Family outstation. All the families would stay there. The men would go out with Nanda Mapa (horses) and muster the cattle and camels. The kijtia and Arkutja Mapa (kids and women) they would stay at the outstation making food, playing games and growing garden. You can see all the kids playing and all the family happy together. We see lady bugs on the flowers and grass. We leave them to crawl on our hands. It's interesting watching their wings flapping when they take off and the colours, red and black. This is at West MacDonnell Ranges when we went swimming and sitting under the trees and going for picnic. Then me and my little family saw elintja mapa (galah mob) and tuakitja (grey-crowned babbler). We were listening to the souds of the birds talking to each other. The local women used to cut the umbilical chord and then have a smoking ceremony to keep the woman strong and the baby.<br /><br />In the Old Days the alukura was always in the bush, and then during the Mission Days the women built humpies for their alukura. <br /><br />These days there is an alukura in Alice Springs, which is run by the Aboriginal Congress of Australia. There is no longer an alukura in Hermannsburg, and younger women prefer to stay with their husbands during the birthing period.

We're at Alkngarinjta going hunting and digging for witchetty grubs. There's my little ute. People gather around the fire with cup of tea.The person wearing the cowboy hat is my dad. At the old church there is a holy tap and when you feel sick or have sickness in your body you drink from this tap and you feel marra (good health). When we go down to the creek to swim we would stop by with a bottle and fill it up from this tap. The holy water comes from Kuprilya Spring. When walbala (white fellas) from Germany first arrived in Ntaria, the black fellas were looking at them from the bush and wondering what they were because they had never seen white-skinned people before. They thought they were ghosts and they stayed hidden in the bush. I don't know how they got to know them, that part I'm still trying to figure it out. (Terracotta and Underglazes, 17 x 8cm)

Every time when we go out for picnic we always stop by on the road and run to the honey grevillea and break off the flower and suck at the honey. It makes us feel really good when we&rsquo;re having bush tucker. We tell the kids: That&rsquo;s how family used to suck it when they were going bush hunting or collecting bush food.
