When walbala (white fellas) from Germany first arrived in Ntaria, the black fellas were looking at them from the bush and wondering what they were because they had never seen white-skinned people before. They thought they were ghosts and they stayed hidden in the bush. I don't know how they got to know them, that part I'm still trying to figure it out. (Terracotta and Underglazes, 17 x 8cm)
